How to Create Download Link Shortcode in Dropbox?

File Manager for Dropbox plugin is a game-changer for WordPress users, making file sharing effortless. Its Download Links Module allows you to generate secure, shareable download links for any Dropbox file directly from your WordPress dashboard.

Step 1: Create Shortcode For Download links

Go to File Manager for Dropbox > Shortcode Builder > Add New Shortcode

Step 2: Pick Download Links Module

Select the Download Links module from the list of available options.

Step 3: Configure the Source

The selected folder or files will appear in the ‘Items Selected‘ panel on the right, then click Next.

Step 4: Configure the Advanced

Show View Button: Allowing users to preview files before downloading.

  • Button Text: Change the label (default: “View”).
  • Button Background Color: Modify the button’s background color.
  • Button Text Color: Adjust the text color.
  • Button Border Radius: Round the button edges using a slider.

Download Button Customization: Customizes the “Download” button’s appearance.

  • Button Text: Change the label (default: “Download”).
  • Button Background Color: Set a custom background color.
  • Button Text Color: Adjust the text color.
  • Button Border Radius: Modify the button’s shape for a rounded look.

Card Layout: Defines how many file cards are displayed per page on different devices.

Device-Specific Display Settings:

  • Mobile (<576px)
  • Tablet (≥576px)
  • Laptop (≥768px)
  • Desktop (≥992px)
  • Large Desktop (≥1200px)
  • Slider Control adjust the number of file cards per page.

Note: Reset button restores default settings.

Show File Size: Displays the file size on each file card.
Show Timestamp: Displays the last modified date and time of a file.

Step 5: Configure the Permission

Permission allows administrators to control access to the Download Links module.

  • Everyone – All users can access.
  • Logged Users – Only logged-in users can access.
  • Roles – Restrict access to specific WordPress roles.
  • Users – Grant access to selected users.

Show Access Denied Message: Displays a message for unauthorized users.

Now Click Finished. Great you have created Download Links module.

Step 6: Insert Shortcode to Your Page or Post

Go to Pages > Add New Paste the shortcode into the editor (Classic, Gutenberg, or Elementor) and Publish.
